The interior remodel
"It might only need a fresh coat of paint", we naively believed... before realizing that, in fact, we were going to need to rip everything out!
(our pain = your gain?) :)
On this page I've put some of the more dramatic demolition images, as a summary.
"To the Studs"???
What does that even mean?
We learned the hard way that "to the studs" means that we would need to rip out the old plaster (trust us; it had to go) and something called "shiplap" and just leave the original vertical redwood beams.
Even these horizontal wood
things were eventually ripped out too
The pic above was once we were further along and had started putting in new insulation.
