The 2nd bathroom (a.k.a. the "kids' bathroom")

This bathroom had new tub, new cabinet, new sink, new floor, new walls, etc.

Plus a new window above the tub to let in more light!

Honoring some original design
The offspring had an interesting request: they had liked the hexagonal tile that was originally in the downstairs kitchen... so they asked if we could put a hexagon floor in the upstairs bath.

OF COURSE.

However, we DID need to reach a compromise: they had fallen in love with the cool blue patterned tile and wanted that to be the floor. I wanted something a little more classic for the floor, but the compromise was that they could put their first-choice tile as the tile for the "niche" in the wall.
MY REASONING WAS AS FOLLOWS: should we ever want to make a change, it would be much easier for us to rip out / replace a couple of square feet of tile in the wall, VERSUS to replace the entire floor.
I had to admit at the end though, that the blue tile was pretty and charming!
Choosing paint color
The old me: "How hard could it be to choose a paint color for the wall?"

Me, today: "WHEW."
